Прочитайте коммуникативные ситуации и напишите соответствующий запрос (или выполните устно). Ответы даны в KEY.
Example:
In an Office
You are in an office, and the air conditioner is too cold for you. You want to ask your colleague to turn it down.
👉 What would you say to ask him to switch off the air conditioner or make it warmer?
- "Hey, could you turn down the air conditioning a bit?"
- "Would you mind making it a little warmer in here?"
1. At a Restaurant
You are at a restaurant, and your food hasn't arrived yet. You want to ask the waiter to check on your order.
👉 What would you say to ask the waiter to check?
- "Excuse me, could you check on my order, please?"
- "Would you mind checking if my food is ready?"
2. In a Library
You are in a library, and someone next to you is talking loudly. You want to ask them to be quieter.
👉 What would you say to politely ask them to lower their voice?
- "Excuse me, could you lower your voice a little?"
- "Would you mind speaking a bit more quietly?"
3. At a Train Station
You are at a train station, and you don't know which platform your train leaves from. You see a staff member nearby.
👉 What would you say to ask for directions?
- "Excuse me, could you tell me which platform the train to London leaves from?"
- "Would you mind helping me find my platform?"
4. In a Classroom
You can't see the board clearly because the window blinds are open, and the sunlight is too bright.
👉 What would you say to ask a classmate to close the blinds?
- "Hey, could you close the blinds, please?"
- "Would you mind pulling down the blinds a little?"
5. At a Shop
You are in a shop, and you can’t reach an item on a high shelf. A shop assistant is nearby.
