Emma and the Lost Necklace
Emma lived in a small town near the mountains. She loved wearing a silver necklace that her grandmother gave her. It was special because it had a little heart-shaped pendant.
One sunny morning, Emma decided to go for a walk in the park. She sat under a big oak tree and read her favorite book. When she stood up to leave, she noticed something terrible—her necklace was gone!
Emma felt worried. She looked around the grass but couldn’t see it. “Where could it be?” she thought. She checked her bag, her coat pockets, and even the bench where she had been sitting. No luck.
“I must find it!” she said. She started looking everywhere. She searched the path near the lake, under bushes, and on the swings where she had stopped earlier. Still, no necklace.
As Emma walked back home, she passed her neighbor, Mr. Green, who was walking his dog. “You look upset, Emma,” he said.
“I lost my necklace,” Emma replied.
Mr. Green smiled and said, “My dog, Max, loves finding things. Let’s see if he can help!”
Emma and Mr. Green followed Max back to the park. The dog sniffed the ground, wagged his tail, and suddenly ran to the oak tree. He pawed at the grass and barked.
Emma ran over and saw her necklace shining in the sunlight. “You found it, Max!” she exclaimed, hugging the dog.
Emma went home happy, her necklace back around her neck. From that day, she always checked her jewelry before leaving a place—and brought Max a treat every time she saw him.
