The Lost Puppy
Emma was a little girl who loved animals. One sunny afternoon, she walked to the park near her house. She saw children playing, birds flying, and a small brown puppy sitting under a tree. The puppy looked sad and alone.
Emma went closer and said softly, “Hello, little one. Are you lost?” The puppy wagged its tail but didn’t move. Emma gave the puppy some of her sandwich. It ate quickly and licked her hand.
Emma wanted to help the puppy. She looked around but didn’t see anyone searching for it. “Don’t worry,” she said. “I will find your owner.”
Emma asked people in the park, “Do you know whose puppy this is?” But no one knew. She decided to take the puppy home.
At home, Emma gave the puppy a warm bath and named it Buddy. She put a note on the park gate that read, “Found: A brown puppy. Call Emma at 123-456.”
The next morning, Emma got a call. A man said, “I think you found my puppy! His name is Max.”
Emma was happy but a little sad too. She didn’t want to say goodbye to Buddy. The man came to Emma’s house. When Max saw him, he barked and wagged his tail.
“Thank you, Emma,” the man said. “You are very kind.”
Emma smiled and said, “I’m happy Max is home, but I will miss him.”
The man said, “You can visit Max anytime.”
From that day, Emma and Max became good friends, and she visited him often. She was proud she helped a lost puppy find his home.
