What Are You Like? Talking About Personality
When we describe a person, we can talk about how they look, but it is also important to describe their personality. Personality is what a person is like on the inside. Here are some common words to describe people.

Some people are very kind. They are nice to others and they help them. A kind person is not unkind. A friendly person says hello and likes to talk to new people. An unfriendly person does not smile, does not want to talk, and doesn’t like making friends.

It is good to be polite. A polite person says "please" and "thank you." A person who is not polite is impolite or rude. A funny person makes people laugh. A person who is not funny can be boring or very serious.

In a difficult situation, it is good to be brave. A brave man does not let fear defeat him. When a person is easily overcome by fear, they say that he is cowardly or a coward. It is nice to be helpful. A helpful person assists others. An unhelpful or selfish person only thinks about themselves.

In school or at work, it is good to be smart or clever. A smart person learns new things quickly. The opposite of smart is foolish or stupid. To do well, you need to be hardworking. A hardworking person does their work with energy. A lazy person does not want to work. They prefer to do nothing. A lazy person is the opposite of hardworking.

Some people are very cheerful and happy all the time. Other people are more serious and think a lot. A person who is always happy is not sad. A confident person is sure of themselves. If you are unsure, you do not feel confident. And remember, it is much better to be polite and respectful than to be rude!

What is he/she/it like?
"What is he/she/it like?" - “Какой он/она/оно?" вопрос, используемый для того, чтобы спросить о характере, личности или качествах человека, животного или предмета.

What is he/she/it like? is a question pattern used to ask about the character, personality, or qualities of a person, animal, or thing.
We use it to ask about personality or character traits:
- What is he like? (Answer: He is kind and funny.)
- What is she like? (Answer: She is hardworking and polite.)
NOTE: This pattern is different from What does he/she/it like?, which asks about preferences or interests.

Answer the questions
Example: Yes, I find it easy to be friendly to strangers because I like meeting new people and learning about them. It makes me feel good to be kind.
Example: I try to be an honest person because I believe it’s important to tell the truth. Honesty helps build trust with others.
Example: I think it’s better to be funny because it makes people happy and creates a positive atmosphere. But being serious is also important at times.
Example: Yes, people often say I am kind because I like helping others and always try to be polite and understanding.
Example: Not really, I feel nervous when speaking in public. But I’m trying to improve by practicing more.
