Telling the Time
Every day, we need to know the time. We look at a clock on the wall or a watch on our wrist. The clock shows us hours, minutes, and seconds.
We can ask: "What time is it?" or "Do you have the time?" The answer usually starts with "It's..."

When the minute hand is at 12, we say the exact hour. For example: "It's one o'clock." (1:00), "It's two o'clock." (2:00), "It's three o'clock." (3:00), and so on up to "It's twelve o'clock." (12:00). Noon or midday is 12:00 in the day. Midnight is 12:00 at night.
When the minute hand moves, we count minutes past the hour. Look at these examples:

Sometimes we say how many minutes remain until the next hour. For example:
