Directions and Locations – A Beginner's Guide
When you travel or walk around a city, you need to explain where places are. This guide will help you describe directions and locations in English.
Relationship between two places
Imagine two buildings. The library is next to or beside the bank. They share a wall. If a café is between the library and the bank, it has the library on one side and the bank on the other side.

Specific Points
Sometimes we use exact places. The shop is on the corner of High Street and London Road. The bus station is at the end of this road. Walk to the end, and you will see it. The bank is around the corner – you cannot see it now, but you turn left and there it is.
The fountain is in the middle of the square. The restaurant is at the top of the hill or at the bottom of the hill.
